Midnight Meditation

Still nights
Under mooonlit skies and stars that watch
My empty gaze.
A slight breeze glides across
The tears on my cheek.
Guide me.
Protect me.
Lift me into your bossom.
I’m dying a slow death
With every breath that I can muster.
The cricket’s song consumes me
As the trees hum a melodic chorus;
A heavenly hymn to a yearning soul.
Fill this vessel with your presence..
